I have a lot terminologies to pick up, especially in Chinese. Actually, I can't read notes well, and rely on my ears to get the tones of a piece of music, as well as the chords. After picking up a little bass, I tend to listen to bass line more to figure out the chords, and found it's a little easier. That, of cause, assumes the basic bass play (mostly play the root note for a given chord).
